Getting Started
So, you've received your
welcome email and you've tried to set up your forum but you're having problems?
Don't worry, its easier than you think. Just follow these easy steps and your
forum will be ready for your visitors in no time.
The first thing to do
is to login as the administrator.
Logging in as the "admin"
gives you the power to change everything about your forum.
To login, open up the welcome email that we sent you. Looking
through it, you will see your username and your password.
The easiest
way to login is by typing in your username into the login
box and by copying your password. Its quite easy really.
Select
your password by double clicking on it (or by holding the
right mouse button and dragging it over the password). The
password should now be highlighted. Right click on the highlighted
password and choose "copy". Now right click on the
password box on your forum and select "paste". (See
Fig. 1.1 below) Click login.
You should
now be logged in.

Now you're logged as
the "admin", what next?
Changing your password to something that you can remember
is a good step. Click on "profile" at the top-right
of your forum.
A pop-up
box will appear with your username and password already entered,
so just click submit. Your profile will now be shown in the
pop-up box and near the top are two boxes called "password"
and "password again". Type your new password into
each box and click "submit" and then close window.
Your password
should now be changed.
Now its time to customise
your forum.
On the right hand side you will see a series of icons. These icons are what
you use to create, edit, delete forums and categories. They look like this,
- Lock a forum / category
- Edit a forum / category
Delete a forum /
category
Create a
new topic / forum / category
Insert a link to a website
address
To start with there
is already a category, a forum and a topic created for you when you sign up. We
will now change these to your choice. Start by clicking the pencil icon to the
right of the default category. We are now going to edit the name of the default
category.
